1. Description of Position

Expert IT Engineer is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of IT Storage equipment. The role supports IT Storage devices planning, installation, migration upgrades, capacity expansion, live-network operations, and performance management while ensuring storage stability and service continuity.

2. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the deployment, configuration, integration, commissioning, and acceptance testing of enterprise storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and storage networking infrastructure.

• Responsible for the operation, administration, and maintenance of storage platforms, including storage arrays, SAN switches, NAS systems, storage virtualization, and related infrastructure. Monitor system health, alarms, capacity, and performance indicators.

• Monitor and optimize critical storage performance metrics, including IOPS, throughput, latency, capacity utilization, cache utilization, and port/path health. Perform regular storage health checks and proactively identify potential issues.

• Quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve storage-related incidents, including disk failures, controller failures, degraded RAID/erasure coding groups, SAN connectivity issues, multipathing problems, performance degradation, and storage capacity issues.

• Manage storage capacity planning and expansion activities, including provisioning new storage, expanding existing pools, configuring LUNs/shares, and allocating storage resources according to business and application requirements.

• Participate in storage upgrades, migrations, technology refreshes, and infrastructure expansion projects. Prepare, review, and execute Method of Procedure (MOP) documents and perform changes on production environments in accordance with the required three-level approval and change management process.

• Ensure high availability and data protection by monitoring redundancy, replication, snapshots, backup integration, and disaster recovery mechanisms, and support recovery activities when required.

• Collaborate with server, virtualization, network, database, backup, and application teams to troubleshoot end-to-end infrastructure issues and ensure reliable storage services for critical business applications.

• Maintain accurate storage documentation, configuration records, capacity reports, incident records, and operational procedures, ensuring compliance with IT infrastructure standards and change-management policies.
