Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced DWDM Rollout Manager to lead the end-to-end deployment of Huawei DWDM optical networks across multiple sites/regions. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing end-to-end deployment of DWDM systems. The rollout manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the installation, integration, and commissioning of DWDM infrastructure, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery while managing subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Planning

• Lead regional rollout of Huawei DWDM systems (including 1800, 6800 and 9800 models) across multiple sites.

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for optical network deployments.

• Define resource requirements, coordinate workforce allocation, and manage subcontractor contracts and performance.

• Monitor project KPIs, ensuring strict adherence to scope, cost, quality, and schedule.

Installation, Integration and Commissioning

• Supervise and guide installation teams on-site for DWDM hardware, ensuring compliance with Huawei technical specifications and industry standards.

• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of (10G - 800G) DWDM systems.

• Ensure proper interpretation and implementation of High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents to rollout plans and operations.

• Manage fault detection, issue analysis, and implementation of solution-oriented approaches during the rollout phase.

Stakeholder & Field Operations Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and subcontractors for the responsible rollout operations.

• Manage effective communication and reporting across all stakeholders (progress updates, risk mitigation, and issue resolution).

• Ensure all field work complies with regional telecom regulations, health & safety protocols (EHS), and quality standards.

Compliance & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including acceptance reports, commissioning records, and handover reports.

• Ensure all work complies with regional telecom regulations and Huawei quality standards.

• Stay updated with the latest developments in optical network technologies and incorporate best practices into rollout operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

• Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in telecom project/ rollout management, with a focus on optical network or transmission rollout projects.

  • Proven track record managing multi-site, multi-vendor DWDM deployment projects regionally.

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Huawei DWDM systems (1800, 6800, 9800) is highly desirable.

• Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of DWDM technologies (10G - 800G) and optical network infrastructure.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply HLD/LLD technical documents.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for fault tracking and resolution.

Skills & Competencies

• Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coordinate subcontractors and internal teams effectively.

• Communication: Effective stakeholder communication and negotiation skills with the ability to coordinate subcontractors and internal teams effectively; fluent in English is a plus.
